Lampung is one of the unique provinces because it has a regional language, namely the Lampung language which is accompanied by its own script which is commonly known as the Lampung script. Lampung script is one of 12 scripts in Indonesia. The Lampung script consists of 20 main letters and 12 sub-letters.

The Lampung language is broadly divided into two dialects because Lampung has two customs (two jurai) namely the pepadun custom and the saibatin custom "Sai Bumi Ruwa Jurai" meaning two groups of people living in an area.

Lampung language consists of two dialects, namely Lampung dialect A and Lampung dialect O. For Lampung language dialect A / api is commonly used by the Saibatin community, while the Lampung language dialect O / nyow is commonly used by pepadun. But now the local language has begun to be abandoned and just ignored.
