The board game Chess is widely popular and is referred to as the Royal Strategy Game.

- On this figure's first move, the pawn goes to one field forward or two fields; it beats diagonally to one field forward.
- The king travels in a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal path to one field.
- The queen can travel any length of time in a vertical, horizontal, or diagonal direction.
The rook may travel any length in both vertical and horizontal directions.
- The knight advances to the field in two vertical fields and one horizontal field, or in one vertical field and two horizontal fields.
- The bishop can go diagonally any length of time.
