This book is a memoir written by Rusydi, Buya Hamka's second child who often accompanies him in various events. Many new and personal things that are encountered from the figure of Hamka are revealed in this book, thus providing a more complete picture of the legendary cleric who is very worthy of our example.

This book is not a data-laden biography of Buya Hamka, but merely a memento of a child to his recently deceased father. In an atmosphere of grief, and overwhelmed by various memories when the deceased was still alive and in the midst of the family, this book was written simply to dispel the never ending story of a child who always accompanied and took care of the deceased during his life. Therefore, subjectivity cannot be avoided. For that, at most, the author asks for the understanding and forgiveness of his readers.
